Card Management System

Intesi Group proposes its CMS (Card Management System) for those who need to produce their own limited amount of cards and therefore not binding and must equip themselves with solutions of high cost. Through the CMS is possible to fully automate the process of printing and supply of Smartcard initialisation at reasonable cost.

CMS is able to control the printing of cards, with different layouts for the two sides, using thermographic printers easily available on the market. With CMS you can personalize cards operating in batch mode, planning for company operations and batches requests. The security keys used for the electrical customization of the cards are stored in a cryptographic device. All operations involving the use of the keys are made by firmware inside the device. This prevents the keys are taken outside of the device. So the danger of theft of the keys is very small. For high security applications the loading of keys is through PinPed. Therefore keys are never typed on the keyboard and do not pass the PC memory where malware software could reside in a position to intercept

Pin Print

Often, the process of customizing the Smartcard is coupled to the press of PIN to release the cards themselves. The press is usually on special paper (we all know the PIN modules through which the bank informs us of our new ATM PIN). Printing operations must be carefully controlled to prevent the theft of PIN by the staff to the press.

The CMS Print PIN module lets you manage the decoding of PIN only during the press and with high levels of security due to the aforementioned use of encryption devices to protect the keys. Each print operation is recorded on log and you can know for each PIN (or PIN batch) the number of prints that were produced. For optimal use of the solution by application service centers, you can determine, for each batch printing, layout and graphics to use cryptographic algorithms to be used to decrypt the data received in encrypted form.

Initializing Cards for digital signature

The initialization of the smartcards is a problem that typically deals in banking (preparation of credit cards and debit cards) and in the field of digital signature. Regarding the digital signature, smartcard is the hardware device of reference for the signing qualified. In order to be properly used the smartcard must be initialized following the procedures of issuing in compliance with the legislation.

Therefore the customization phase forms a more complex process that involves the following steps:

• Recognition and registration of the user who is assigned the certificate
• Generation of keys on the device
• Request for issuing a certificate to the CA
• Uploading the certificate on the device
• Any other initialization (default PIN, print graphics, ...)

Intesi Group has prepared its CMS with software modules to carry out all stages listed above.
CMS Registration Authority (RA) Component is ready and available to manage online registration steps fo users and registries in optical multi-company. The integration modules with different Certification Authority (CA) allow to deploy the application process for certificate with a multi CA view and with maximum flexibility.
The whole batch process to prepare cards is handled automatically by CMS. CMS takes care of incoming requests for release from CMS RA and prepare papers on operator activation.
