With Intesi Group Qualified e-Seals the access to the EPREL database is EU compliant, fast and easy
Starting from March 1st, 2022, the EPREL – EU Product Database for Energy Labeling database come into force. All electrical appliances to be placed on the European market must be registered in EPREL.
Registering products in the EPREL database allows the creation of new energy labels with QR codes that allow consumers to access product information.
The goal is to make the list of regularly labeled equipment available to everyone and on the other hand to allow the authorities to carry out surveillance activities.
All manufacturers, importers or retailers residing in the EU and wishing to market electrical equipment in Europe will therefore have to register their products on EPREL to obtain the energy label and be able to start commercial activities.
What types of products will be registered in the EPREL database according to the new regulation?
- Air conditioners
- Kitchen appliances (household)
- Dishwashers (domestic)
- Water heaters
- Lamps
- Stoves
- Ovens
- Refrigeration appliances (domestic)
- Refrigeration (professional)
- Televisions
- Dryers
- Ventilation units (residential)
- Washing machines (domestic)
- Vacuum cleaner
- (Tires in the next months)
The list is constantly updated.
How can Intesi Group help you to access the EPREL database?
The European Commission requires that the identity of manufacturers interested in accessing and registering their products on EPREL is verified by means of a Qualified e-Seal. The goal is to improve the integrity, identity and reliability of the information stored in the database.
EPREL will check:
- The existence of the supplier
- If the supplier is based in the European Union or Northern Ireland
- Whether the person operating has the necessary powers to do so.
From March 2022, identity verification of companies by means of a Qualified e-Seal will be mandatory.
Each manufacturer must fill out a specific declaration in .pdf format and seal it using a Qualified e-Seal before uploading the document to EPREL.
